Can we measure God? Get out your yard stick and consider…
“How wide is God?”
Further than you can stretch your arms. Wider than the oceans and the earth. Wider than the expanses of the Heavens, past the sun and our solar system. He made it all, and must be wider than all.
“How Long is God?”
If I sketched out a line on the ground and went forever one way, and then turned around and went forever the other way, He is the true definition of a line with no end points.
“How high is God?”
If you stood back to back, how tall is He? He’s taller than the trees and most impressive buildings. Taller than the clouds and stars and planets. Now turn and stand facing Him and look up – way up, to infinite.
“How deep is God?”
I can’t dig a deep enough hole with all the equipment man has invented. In fact, we can’t even explore the depths of the ocean, and yet God is deeper still. Now consider:
“God is love.”
How can we measure God’s love for us?We can’t. And that’s worthy of some meditation time. “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. “And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. “Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”Ephesians 3:16-19 NLT
