Our children know they’re supposed to love others. If I ask, “What are the greatest commandments,” they’ll say, “Love God and love others.” But sometimes they just sort of forget… I’m sure we’re not alone. 🙂
Recently, I could tell that our home needed a little reminder of Who and what love is, so I wrote this devotional that my older ones can do on their own.
The topics are:
- Love One Another
- Serve One Another
- Encourage One Another
- Show Compassion
- Rejoice Together
- Be Thankful
- Deny Yourself
There are additional suggested topics at the end: humility, harmony, and hospitality.
Each lesson uses Bible passages and stories to talk about the topic. Then, there are sections with hands-on practical ways the students can practice loving others.
This is written for preteen and teenage children who already profess Christ and have an understanding of the Bible. I recommend having them work on their own, covering about one topic each week. It will probably take that long to complete the activities.
