2020 Challenge: Core 52

We don’t do “family devotions.” I have Bible time with home school, the kids read their Bibles on their own, and I do my own thing. Sometimes we’ve read books before bed or done advent devotionals, but nothing consistent.

This year, though, we are going to try something new: Core 52. Our pastor, Aaron Brockett, recommended it. You’ll focus on 52 passages, one per week, for a year. Each week includes a teaching devotional, additional reading suggestions, application ideas, and a memory verse. My plan is for us to read the intro chapter together on Sunday nights and then do the activities on our own during the week

Maybe you’re like us, looking for something new to get your year started. Come join us on the Core 52 Challenge! I know I’ll need accountability to last more than a month. 😊

I’d also love to hear suggestions on fun ways you might incorporate this into your family’s life. Maybe we could have a prize to anyone who has memorized all 52 verses by this time next year. Maybe we could read it weekly while eating ice cream. I’ll probably take ideas from the kids and update you here.

Let me know if you want in on the fun! Happy New Year, friends. I pray that in 2020, your life overflows with God’s love through Jesus.
